Welcome to Sas48 hackathon, your chance to make your creative ideas real.
Join us on a journey where bright minds come together to shape the future through innovation and problem-solving.
What is Sas48 Hackathon?
- Sas48 is a 48 hour hackathon where participants team up with like-minded participants who are passionate about making a positive impact.
- Teams will be made up of participants with different skills ranging from theme experts, developers, designers, marketers, entrepreneurs, and project managers.
- Together, and in one weekend, the teams will generate creative ideas to solve real-life problems, and work on transforming their ideas into reality by coding, designing, and prototyping.
- Throughout the process, experienced mentors and experts will be available to offer guidance and assistance, helping teams overcome challenges and refine their projects.
- Finally, each team will present their creations to a panel of impressive judges and have the chance to discover the inspiring innovations of their fellow participants.
- The top 3 teams will be announced on the final day and win post-hackathon support for 6 months to bring their prototype to life.
What is the theme for this hackathon?
- This year’s theme is to create innovative technological solutions to address the challenges faced during disaster relief efforts.
- Natural disasters like cyclones and floods that cause infrastructure damage, and pose real threats to human lives and well-being.
- Technology can serve as a vital tool for facilitating relief efforts during disasters, enhancing communication, support, and rescue operations. This year, we are actively seeking innovative technology ideas centered around this theme.
As an introduction to the main 48-hour event, there will be a short pre-event:
Attendance at the pre-event is mandatory for accepted participants to join in the hackathon. The pre-event will help you:
- Understand how the hackathon will work and the agenda for the 48 hours
- Gain deeper knowledge and insights into the hackathon's main theme and challenges
- Explore problem-solving and solution development for the challenges at hand
- Understand how to create an action plan for the hackathon readiness
Objectives
- To tackle rescue and relief sector challenges and present digital solutions that can be enabled by using technology.
- Build public awareness and create opportunities in the relief sector, based on available capabilities
- Encourage entrepreneurs and startups to think creative and establish a new business.
